Kent Horse Rescue is a charitable organisation with the sole aim of helping the public help suffering horses in need of care, love and attention, saving horses and ponies from being mistreated, bringing them back to health and happiness, and finding them new homes.
After a lifetime working with and around horses, and nearly 20 years of working in the field rescuing horses from danger and distress, Kent Horse Rescue is here to help the public, struggling horse owners, landowners and local authorities in their duty of care to these wonderful animals. Our aim is to bring an end to the Horse Crisis in the UK.
Our work, vision and values are summed up in our mission: to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Re-home as many equines as we can. We have a clear, humane policy; none of the horses we rescue are put-to-sleep unless it’s the only / last option directed by a Vet (on humane grounds only).
Many of our rescues are re-homed after rehabilitation with other charitable / community / social groups; such as riding centres for the disabled and disadvantaged, equine assisted learning and therapy centres, etc.
